La chanson que tous le monde connaît sous le nom de « Thriller » a commencé avec un titre et des paroles différents. Lorsqu’elle a été écrite à l’origine, elle s’intitulait « Starlight », mais Michael Jackson et Quincy Jones ont ensuite demandé à Rod Temperton de réinventer la chanson avec des accents plus effrayants, ce qui a conduit Rod à réécrire les paroles et à proposer un nouveau titre – « Thriller ». L’original « Starlight » n’a jamais été publié auparavant.
